Detox Therapies

Green Juice Prep

Detoxification is a term that is often describes the removal of normal metabolic wastes that accumulate from the body’s normal functions.

It also includes the body’s process of removing foreign substances which invade us through living in a polluted world. This includes chemicals and organism that are found in our air, water, food and homes.

Our bodies have a resilient ability to process these environmental substances, but sometimes we need additional support for these processes. It is now appearing that some people have an inhibited ability to maintain these functions. These people are often diagnosed with conditions like chronic fatigue, multiple chemical sensitivities, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, and immune deficiencies such as autoimmune conditions.

During treatment for chronic illness, the body may begin to accumulate toxic waste that needs to be removed from our bodies. For example, when we are improving liver function, there may be residual byproducts of healing that can hinder the body’s optimal restoration.

The removal of normal metabolic waste products that collect in our bodies from their normal functions is part of a proper detoxification process. Cleansing and detoxifying therapies at Opus Wellness Center are ways in which we can help patients refine and improve this process to reduce the toxic burden created by exposure to everyday life, which can delay recovery from chronic illness.

The benefits of enhanced detoxification extend beyond a reduction of the toxic load. It can yield improvements in energy, sleep, digestion, mood, and overall sense of wellbeing, all of which can lead to the efficacy of treating chronic illness.

Our cleansing and detoxifying therapies may include a combination of dietary regimens, along with herbal and nutritional supplementation which supports the body’s natural "detox" processes, homeopathic and naturopathic solutions, and several types of IV therapy treatments.

DETOX THERAPY TREATMENTS

Chelation Therapy
Chelation (pronounced key-lay-shun) therapy consists of intravenous injections of an amino acid whose generic name is EDTA. It removes toxic metals from the bloodstream like lead, mercury, and excess iron and calcium deposits. The EDTA grasps the metals like a claw; it encircles them with a complex ring, which is then excreted through the urine. "Chele" comes from the Greek meaning claw of a lobster or crab.

*Chelation may remove vital minerals from the body along with the toxic metals.  A mineral infusion is always administered 48 hours after your Chelation therapy.

Liver Detox Therapy
Boosting liver health to remove toxins from the body is an integral part of an optimum healthy lifestyle. It’s the liver’s job to help absorb the nutrients available in foods once they reach the gut and spread them throughout the body via the bloodstream and eliminate toxic waste that’s left behind.

What can improved liver function do for your health?

-Increased energy levels

-Clearer skin

-More regular menstrual cycle with reduced PMS

-Balanced mental and emotional health

-Fewer infections and stronger immunity

-Less digestive complaints and more regularity

-Fresher breath and oral health

-A positive mood and sharper mind

Detoxification IV Therapy

Intravenous detoxification, also known as detoxification iv therapy, is an alternative and allopathic treatment procedure wherein amino acids, vitamins, minerals, medical ozone or oxygen, and other important nutrients are slowly introduced into the bloodstream intravenously to purge out toxic materials from the body.

A menu of our IV Therapies can be found here but depending on your needs one will be customized for you.

Detoxification combined with lifestyle modifications, changes in diet, and increased levels of exercise can have a positive impact on your health, improve your quality of life, and help you look better and feel younger. A comprehensive medical approach is needed to optimize your health, renew your energy levels, and restore your body to feeling optimal.
